Construction that Heals (sort of)

For 66 years, Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates has been performing delicate and complex procedures to help patients recover from strokes, brain and spinal injuries. It’s tough, but rewarding work where every detail matters. Which meant it was right up our alley because we absolutely love details. Tyler 2 teamed up with a with a local shell contractor to give Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates a brand spanking new two-story headquarters that’s as dedicated to improving patient care as the medical professionals inside.

The challenge:

Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates is at the forefront of their industry; so their new space needed to show a flair for forward thinking and innovation in every possible way. Rather than traditional squared corners and typical elevation changes, the building features graceful soft curves. In lieu of a traditional façade, the exterior was constructed of Tennessee fieldstone, arctic-blue glass and aluminum panels.  This modern design aesthetic carries through to the interior where the use of curves, glass and stone give the building a natural and clean yet progressive look.

The end result:

Teamwork for the win. Tyler 2 was involved with the architects, designers and doctors from the get go, putting group communication and teamwork into overdrive. By the end of the 16-month project, we hadn’t just delivered an awesome new building; we did it a week ahead of schedule with cost savings for the client to boot. Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates was so happy with the result, they awarded us four more contracts. Most recently, they had us back at the Baldwin office for the construction and installation of an Upright MRI, one of only two such centers in the Southeast. See, we told you they were ahead of the game.
